Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Don, I've been training for 40 years. I started in 1965 at the age of 5 in Matsubayashi-ryu. My sensei is Soke Nagamine and has been since 1980. I rec'd my Rokyudan in 1999. I live in South Florida. Mr. Prince, please tell Mr. Ishii I said hello.

Kia ora,hello Don.I look forward to reading your posts.It is good to see a senior Matsubayashi ryu karateka join this forum.Perhaps in time we could see other WMKA members share there views here.

My name is Jerry Pilon,
I have been training since late 1986, I started in Shoto Kan and have been with Tilley Sensei in Shogen (Shorin) Ryu since 1996. I have trained with many instructors and now I'm proud to say I train with Taba Sensei - 1997 to present.

I have had my own dojo since 1996 and have not looked back.

I hope to have great conversation and new friend from this forum.

Kia ora.mensoree jerry san.Another senior member joins the forum,fantastic.There is huge respect for Taba sensei,his lineage with Matsubayashi ryu is legend.Welcome aboard.

Hello all. I am looking forward to many interesting conversations here. There are so many people on this forum that I have grown to respect a great deal whether it has been through personal contact or e-mail communications. Just looking over the member list, I was able to see a vast amount of knowledge and experience in the names. I hope to contribute how I can.

Like Jerry San, I am a student of Taba Sensei and Shogen-Ryu. I teach in Ohio. My first instructor is Sensei Jim Hartley and now I train with Taba Sensei whenever possible.

In addition to any karate oriented topics (Matsubayashi-Ryu, Shogen-Ryu) I would be happy to address any questions regarding areas I am specially trained in, such as, anatomy & physiology, exercise & fitness, Filipino Martial Arts or physical therapy.
